Show HN: Clippulse – Promo Videos Made In-Browser, No Editing Skills Required Hello HN community, I am thrilled to share Clippulse, a tool I've been working on for the past month. It’s a platform that enables anyone to create promotional videos for their products or services directly in their web browser, with no prior video editing experience needed. The idea was born out of my own struggle with creating a promotional video for another product I was developing. That task turned into a month-long task that resulted in a mediocre output (at best). At the time, I didn't realize it, but as time passed, I kept seeing more people facing with the same issue, and I realized this was a common problem needing a solution. With Clippulse, you can fully customize your video's aesthetics, from background colors and text styles to the size and position of elements. You can add both text and images, select from our growing list of 15+ built-in animations, and even upload music to your video. One of the features I'm most proud of is the ability to automatically sync your video's transitions with the beats of your music, all with a single button press. The intention behind Clippulse is to make the creation of promotional videos less intimidating and more accessible for everyone. Whether you're running a SaaS business or want to showcase any other type of product, it offers a streamlined, user-friendly process. I want to note that it's still a work in progress. I'm shipping new features, customizations, and animations on a daily basis. Show HN: Interactive exercises for GNU grep, sed and awk Hello! For the past few months, I've been using a Python framework called Textual to create TUI apps for interactive exercises. Released the app for GNU awk earlier today, so thought I'd create a post here. If you already know how to manage Python packages, you can use the following command to get all the three apps: pip install grepexercises sedexercises awkexercises `pipx` should also work, but I haven't tested it. The GitHub repo has the source code as well as more detailed installation instructions. You can use alternative CLI tools to solve these exercises as well. For example, Perl instead of GNU awk or ripgrep instead of GNU grep and so on. Hope you find these TUI apps useful. I'd highly appreciate your feedback. I've worked in this space since the very early days (think SSLv2), always frustrated with the fact that the field is vast but the documentation poor. That first led me to create SSL Labs (which ended up being very popular) and then the first edition of my book (in 2014), where I aimed to cover everything a curious person needed to know about SSL/TLS and PKI. Most importantly, it's a very practical book that you can use to just learn what you need at that moment. The second edition (just out) adds coverage of TLS 1.3. I publish two chapters as a separate (and free) OpenSSL Cookbook. There's another free sample chapter as well. The best part of Bulletproof TLS and PKI is that it's a living book. There's nothing worse than obsolete documentation! Because none of the traditional publishers were interested in that sort of thing,
